Methodology

Every quarter, Telsyte collects, analyses and updates the Instant Benchmark database with hundreds of telecommunications service price points. Primary sources of price data include:

  • Carriers and service providers’ pricing both published and unpublished (mainly for the residential and SME databases); and
  • End-user telecommunications service tenders, contracts and actual bills (mainly for the corporate and government databases).

To reflect the industry's pricing practice, pricing data in the Instant Benchmark database for residential services includes GST, while that for SME and Corporate/Government services excludes GST.

Purchasing

You can purchase Instant Benchmark access with a credit card or a pre-paid purchase.

To initiate an e-commerce transaction:

  1. Click on the "Purchase Now" button to add the selection to your Shopping Cart.
  2. The Shopping Cart will save your selected items, even after you log out. You can delete them at any time by clicking the “Delete” button under each item. When you are ready to finalise your purchase, click "Finalise Purchases" at the bottom of the page.
  3. Payment options
    There are two options to pay for your online purchase — credit card, or an open Telsyte Account. If purchasing via a credit card, you will be prompted to enter your credit card information. Once you have entered all required information, click "Continue". Note: if you are previously registered and logged in, your user information will already be filled in. Simply verify that it is correct or make any necessary changes.
    If you do not wish to place your credit card order over the Internet, use the option "pay by credit card via fax or post" and then fax or post your order with your credit card details.
  4. Order confirmation
    After filling in the required information, you will have the opportunity to verify that it is correct. Your purchase is still not complete and you can make any necessary changes by clicking the "Update Details" link next to your payment information. When everything is satisfactory, click "Continue". You will be then presented with your purchase details. To confirm your purchase, simply click “Process Transaction”.
  5. Purchase completion
    Once your online purchase is approved, print the page as your receipt. You will also receive a confirmation of your purchase via e-mail to the address your provided.

Prepaid and Subscription Purchases

For customers who anticipate purchasing multiple Instant Benchmark transactions, purchasing a package of prepaid Instant Benchmark views in advance makes it easier and more cost-effective than single purchases. Package costs are based on the average price of all databases, with additional discounts based on the amount of research purchased, so significant savings can be made.

Customers anticipating frequent use of the Instant Benchmark database can subscribe to the service, which gives them unlimited access to the database within a certain period of time. Delivery and Receipt

Upon completion of your Instant Benchmark purchase, an email containing the URL for the purchased contents will be sent to your email address. These details are also provided on screen as a confirmation and should be printed in case of email failure. Online access to the purchased information is available for a 24-hour period. You may now view your purchase online or download a copy to your local computer.

Receipts for online sales are handled electronically and a receipt (Tax Invoice) will be sent to the billing contact via email.
