Mevan Jayatilleke

Mevan is the Managing Director of Telsyte, responsible for the company’s business operations, directions and research/consulting activities. In addition to managing the business, has responsibilities for marketing, heading up custom research projects, staff development and management of the quality system, and resource management. Mevan is also involved in sourcing and securing new business opportunities.

Mevan has over 10 years experience in the telecommunications industry in Australia and the United States. His areas of specialisation include telecommunication & IT technical, strategic & business consulting, procurement, solution architecture, process reengineering and project management. He also has extensive technical experience in broadband transmission and access networks and blended IT and telecommunication solutions.

Warren Chaisatien
Research Director

Warren Chaisatien

As Telsyte's Research Director and Principal Analyst, Warren is in charge of the company's overall research and consulting directions, practices and deliverables. In addition, he is responsible for new product and business developments, managing the analyst team and doubling as a wireless and mobility subject matter expert. Warren has been instrumental in establishing Telsyte's three competency areas of Broadband & NBN, Mobile & Wireless, and Unified Comms & Cloud Computing, and in repositioning the company as Australia's leading telecom market research consultancy.

Drawing on 15 years of international ICT experience spanning North America and Asia Pacific, Warren is well regarded for the insights and practical advice he provides to industry players and end-users alike. His areas of expertise include new technology and market opportunity assessments, supplier strategies, emerging business models, and end-user analyses. He has spearheaded numerous industry-first research and consulting initiatives in such areas as Enterprise Mobility, Consumer Digital Home, and Fixed-Mobile Convergence. Having written more than 200 papers and articles and frequently quoted in leading business dailies and trade publications, Warren is a recognised thought leader in the mobile and convergence space, a regular speaker at industry events, and an invitation-only GSMA Global Mobile Awards judge.

Warren joined Telsyte in 2006 as its MD after a highly successful career as Research Manager at IDC, where he spent seven years covering the Canadian and Australian telecom markets. He established IDC Australia’s fastest-growing and highest-profile wireless research practice and received multiple awards for his work, including the IDC Global Fellowship, Research Quality, and Asia Pacific Analyst of the Year awards. Prior to IDC, he served as Marketing Operations Manager and Sales Representative with IBM ASEAN, Communications Sector, and was twice a recipient of the IBM Professional Achievement awards for exceeding sales targets. Warren holds a master’s degree in engineering management.

Emilie Ditton
Senior Analyst - Carrier and Broadband Telecommunications

Emilie is Telsyte’s leading analyst within the carrier and broadband practice. Emilie has 10 years experience within the telecommunications industry in Australia and overseas. She comes to Telsyte from Ovum and IDC, where she worked in both research and consulting within telecommunications.

As well as holding responsibility for Telsyte’s carrier and broadband research practice, Emilie has a key responsibility for delivery of consulting projects. She brings experience of providing consulting and expert advice over a broad range of areas within telecommunications including financial and regulatory modeling, technology assessment and cost benefit analysis, business case analysis and market sizing, working for key corporate and government clients with Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

Emilie joined Telsyte in 2009. She holds a B. Eng (Chemical) with honours and a B.Comm (Finance and Marketing) from the University of Sydney.

Gary Tsang
Industry Analyst - Enterprise Communications

Gary Tsang

Gary is the lead analyst in Telsyte’s Enterprise Communications practice, providing industry insights and commentaries. Having previous experience at UNSW in a technical and analytic job function, Gary brings a balance of technology and business knowledge to Telsyte.

Apart from regularly tracking and analysing telecom market developments, Gary has also been involved in a number of consulting projects, including market assessments, go-to-market strategies, options analysis and expert advise, for major corporate and Government clients in Australia.

Gary joined Telsyte in 2008 after completing his B.Eng. (Telecommunications) at the University of New South Wales. He is currently in the process of completing his MBA at the University of Technology Sydney.

Alvin Lee
Associate Analyst

Alvin is the Associate Analyst who joined Telsyte in 2009 after completing his B.Eng. (Electrical) at the University of New South Wales.

Alvin has been involved in a wide variety of consulting engagements, including mobile QoS, data centre, consumer digital home and a market assessment on the investment of an international subsea cable facility in South East Queensland.

Apart from his involvement in various consulting projects, Alvin is especially active in tracking the Mobile & Wireless and Carrier & Broadband market, providing industry insights and commentaries. He is also integral to the regular update and maintenance of Telsyte's Instant Benchmark and Instant Forecast online databases.

Peter M. Pain B.E.(Elec)
Sales and Marketing

Peter has extensive experience in the ICT, Aviation and Renewable Energy
industries. Some of the projects that Peter has worked have included business development roles with Telco equipment suppliers in Australia. Peter was instrumental in seeking an alternative direct distribution channel for a major Telco and most recently developed further opened up a key data market segment for a US based equipment supplier. He also built a sales and marketing role for a start-up US Regional Carrier's Carrier from inception.

Peter¹s ICT experience spans a variety of sales and marketing roles in the
ICT industry that has equipped him with a sound knowledge of Telco infrastructure including fibre transmission, long haul and metro WDM, cabling, switching, microwave and short haul digital radio networks, GSM
mobile phone networks and applications of video monitoring across WiFi and 3G mobile networks.

He has experience working in both Asia and Australia where Peter has worked for major corporations including; Rockwell-Collins, HP, Burroughs, and Megadata.

In addition to his sales, business development and marketing expertise,
Peter also has experience in the technical/engineering field ­ offering a
combination of business, marketing and technical insights to Telsyte
clients.

One of Peter¹s key assets is his ability to take a view from the perspective
of the needs of all stakeholders, and develop and apply creative strategies for the benefit of Telsyte's clients.

Christian Petrocco
Sales and Marketing

Christian is an up-start young marketing graduate joining the Telsyte team in 2009. Christian’s role at Telsyte will focus on business development relations. He will be responsible for the development of new business opportunities while also introducing new marketing initiatives to further Telsyte’s position within the telecommunications and media market.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Business Marketing Degree while also encompassing an extensive knowledge of the Retail, Hospitality and Event Management industries. He has worked on numerous projects that have included business development roles with Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) suppliers and Event management organisations. Christian was influential in the development of a successful FMCG supplier looking to deliver a diversified experience.

One of Christian’s key talents is his ability to establish strong relationships. Christian is able to form a powerful connection with all stakeholders, resulting in a heightened trust between Telsyte and their clients.
