Foad Fadaghi is Telsyte’s research director and principal analyst. He has over fifteen years experience reporting and analyzing the technology industry.

Over many years, Foad has been a key insights partner for leading Australian and multinational companies. He is a strong presenter and public speaker with his research often quoted in the media. His experience crosses over into journalism where he was the former technology editor for BRW magazine. Foad was formerly a Jupiter Research analyst and managing editor of Jupitermedia.

Most recently Foad authored “Digital Nation”, a graphical book providing insights into technology adoption in Australia.

Sam is Telsyte’s Senior Research Manager responsible for ICT and Digital Marketing programs. Sam is an experienced industry analyst having held senior positions with Frost & Sullivan and UXC consulting group.

His research and insights have been quoted in major publications such as the AFR, BRW, Australian IT, ZDnet, Computerworld and other tech and marketing publications. Sam is an accomplished speaker and presenter having spoken at business and industry conferences in Australia and Asia Pacific. Prior to Telsyte, Sam was a Marketing Manager for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Australia & New Zealand where headed up trade and customer marketing across retail channels.

Alvin joined Telsyte in 2009 after completing his B.Eng. (Electrical) at the University of New South Wales. Alvin is the co-author of Telsyte’s Mobility research program and has been involved in a wide variety of consulting engagements including studies into mobile QoS, data centres, mobile network assessments and a study into the feasibility of an international sub sea cable facility in South East Queensland.

Alvin’s interests are in emerging technologies, mobility and devices. He has also spent time as IT specialist for a Asus certified service provider. Apart from his involvement in various consulting projects, Alvin is especially active in tracking the Mobile & Wireless and Carrier & Broadband market, providing industry insights and commentaries.

Rodney Gedda

Rodney Gedda has 13 years experience in the IT industry as a journalist, editor and various new business creation roles. His media experience spans consumer titles like PC World and enterprise IT publications like Computerworld and CIO. Gedda was also instrumental in launching two business technology titles for IDG Communications Australia – IT Marketer in 2003 and TechWorld Australia in 2008.

In his most recent role he served as Editor of TechWorld Australia and Deputy Editor of CIO Australia at IDG’s Sydney office. He is an avid personal and professional blogger and active on popular social networks like LinkedIn and Twitter. Gedda has an engineering degree from the University of Sydney.

Chris Coughlan

With over 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry in a wide variety of roles, Chris Coughlan is a strong addition to Telsyte, as Director, Research Consulting. Chris is very much focused on the market development aspect of the wireless sector, in particular the application of the technology to deliver real world solutions.

For the last couple of years Chris has been working as an independant consultant. Prior to this he was with Alcatel-Lucent, where he held the position of VP, Wireless Networks Australasia. He held an equivalent position at Lucent Technologies prior to their merger. After leaving Alcatel-Lucent he spent six months consulting with Unwired; assisting them with their business plans for a next generation wireless access network. He has provided services to: NetComm, Access Economics, the NZ Commerce Commission and others on wireless technologies, business plans and spectrum issues. With qualifications in both Engineering and Business, including an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Chris began his career in telecommunications in 1979 as a technician in Telstras TV, audio and transmission area. He stayed with the carrier for 18 years, moving from the technical area into management roles, ultimately holding the position of industry consultant for the media and entertainment segment.
